Appellation : Falanghina Beneventano IGT
Historical notes : it is an ancient vine grown in the Campi Flegrei, in the province of Naples, and in the Taburno area, in the province of Benevento. The name derives from the term "falanga" which designated the pole used to maintain the very vigorous branches which do not allow sapling cultivation. Grapes: 100% Falanghina. Soil: mainly medium texture. Planting density: on average 3500 vines per hectare. Production area: territory in the province of Benevento from the towns of Ponte and Torrecuso. Exposure : South - East. Altitude: 250/300 m above sea level Training system: espalier with guyot pruning. Vineyard age : 15 years on average. Yield per hectare : about 80/120 quintals. Harvest period: first ten days of October. Maturation: 3 months in steel tanks with permanence on its lees. Refinement: at least one month in the bottle. Color : yellow light straw yellow with greenish reflections. Smell : fresh and fruity scent with strong notes of citrus, pineapple, banana and lemon blossom. Taste: very fresh thanks to a marked acidity in balance with the structure of the wine. Recommended pairings: ideal as an aperitif and particularly enhances dishes based on shellfish and seafood; it goes well with fish, white meats, vegetables, fresh and medium-aged cheeses
